It's impossible to predict how things will roll out over time, but your scenario makes as much sense as some of the more dire predictions. Either way, I don't see why we're there at this point. Our stated mission was accomplished long ago. And whether we withdraw today or in ten years, the aftermath is likely to be the same: a bloody civil war.
