Sadly, in these fast times, kids don't have time for anyone but their close circle of friends. Distance between them and me only complicates the matter and makes it easier for them to ignore me. It's hard enough to stay in touch with my own kids, but they make an effort to call and e-mail with some frequency. We're all very close, but communications just isn't important. Sad.
