This whole Pro-Mold sale seems to be just one part of a larger lawsuit filed against Turek (undisclosed by PLNI, of course). If things go according to schedule, there's apparently a settlement conference set for 8/13/07 and a trial set for 9/10/07. So to say this is all just about $125K is rather reckless, but expected by the sheep.

As for bankruptcy, I'd say it makes sense Turek would go that route. Leopards don't change their spots as evil_star pointed out. Since earlier this week Turek was apparently unsuccessful in getting the court to halt the sale, what other options might he have? If Turek does file, he'd have to do so before Friday or else why bother? If/when Turek does file, it will be interesting to see the role of Edwin Rude, Turek's bankruptcy attorney and board member, if any. You have to assume the guy feels about as jilted and embarrassed as anyone for Plasticon's quick descent into the abyss.
