I believe that he was the *ONLY* guy on stage, in either Party's debates, who would ACTUALLY reduce the size, intrusiveness and deficit-spending expense of the federal government.
I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but you're right about one thing, Paul would certainly reduce the federal government significantly... in fact, I have the impression he would do away with the military also...
I was impressed with some of his ideas when he spoke at the first debate, but then he said that America is responsible for 9/11, it's the "blowback" for being over in the middle east in the first place, we don't belong there, so we got what we deserved... now this smells foul, very foul, it smells high above the earth, and he has clearly ended any realistic hope of attracting any mainstream conservative to his camp... I would expect such a comment from michael moron or sean penn, or any one of those nut jobs... in the early 1900's, America was protected by two oceans, his ideas may have applied back then, but this is hardly the case today, we have no protection, this is an over crowded global community, we need to be stronger... Paul did say that if we were going to fight a war, that we should not do it piece at a time but fight with full force... I do agree with him there...
No matter how you slice it, both Paul and McCain have been crossed off my list, and I'm sure many others as well...
