Hi Jeffry:

I am not shorting anything right now. (I should have shorted KLIC and covered near 42 when PB said to do it though). I have learnt very quickly that shorts are dangerous and so I only use PB to look for shorting candidates. I then use my other criteria like earnings, sales, knowledge of the industry (I only short companies I understand -- electronics, telecom, and software companies), TA on the stock chart and market, and when all else fails, tea leaves, to decide to actually short something. I went over PB's short history on their web site and they're basically losing money right now (they say it is because of the market, I believe them). Like Pitbull longs, I use Pitbull shorts for finding candidates -- I then research the companies before putting my money into them.

My days are ruined when I'm shorting -- not a good way to maintain your peace of mind. Long-term longs are so much more relaxing. Find a few good companies, and stay with them -- I seem to come out ahead overall when I'm long than when I'm short. Maybe I need to find the companies that are going to go bankrupt long term (year 2000 companies, there is going to be a year 2001 too you know . . .) and short them now when they're flying.
