You have good volume on a stock, but the spread is tight, say 1/16 and you see it is staying within that range, with the bid and ask not budging. Would you trade that stock more than once that day taking a chance that you might get rid of the shares at the ask, but run the risk of not getting more at the bid ? I've seen this situation a few times going on. On a block of 5000 this would mean $312.50 gross, but if you did it twice, it means $625.00.
