I understand your points....and agree with you in general. Paul is stoking the "why" and "how did we get here" fires....which is a good thing. Assuming there is or was no other way than that which was followed is wrong...but even while maintaining our present status in the world can we use some of his points in considering the decisions of the future, sure...and we should.
