Z, I thought you were once for generous welfare programs, higher wages, etc., as long as we help American citizens first before opening the borders. Oh well, I share your feelings that we cannot seal the border nor can we pragmatically deport all illegals. But I do think we ought to give priority to legal immigrants first. It's unfair to them that the illegals are allowed to cut in line. As for all this "share the wealth" stuff, I think you know what my thoughts are on that. One thing to note is that no matter where you are on the political spectrum, I believe illegal immigration exacerbates the side effects of any political stance you may hold. Believe in the welfare state? Better account for all the illegals. Believe in laissez-faire capitalism? Better brace yourself for the impact on wages. Tenchusatsu
