Personally, whether one is afraid to die or not depends I think on how you have lived your life.. My mom who is 79 is not afraid to die but she is afraid of becoming incapacitated and not being able to take care of herself..

I have always been acutely aware of mortality.. Even more so when I was younger.. Some thing perhaps to do with my father, who died at 27 while my mother was six months pregnant..

Is there anything after you die ? Do you have to account for what you have done here in this life ? We and I believe, yes we do.. Soul we believe is eternal..
