INDV...a brief history.

I spent my Saturday morning researching old posts,
news items, stock price history, etc. and here's what
I came up with in case anyone is interested (the dates
and prices are approximate).

July 1996. Amran (the CEO) and the Board of Directors
have a falling out - basically a disagreement on where the
company is headed. For example, he acquired Freeloader which
the company later dumped (May 1997). He's fired and it's all public
and ugly and the stock price goes from a high of 15ish to about 6.

January 1997. INDV releases First! 2.0 - a LotusNotes based
personalized news service. Stock price jumps up to about 10.

March-July 1997. Stock price drifts downward on generally low
volume. I don't see any major reason, but I don't see much news
to keep them aloft.

July -August 1997. INDV buys Clarinet. Earnings are released with
a 32% upside surprise. New CEO is buying lots of shares around $5.
Analysts including Robertson Stephens and HQ say positive things
about the company including expected profits by 1998, and a target
price of $15-20 by end of 1997.

Sept-October 1997. AT&T chooses First! for new delivery to its
Global Services unit (one of top 25 sales forces in U.S.). A NSCP
partnership is announced. INDV introduces NewsPage for MSFT users.
Greg Stanger from MSFT joins Board of Directors. Stock price rebounds
quickly from a low of about 3 to a high of 7.

***************************************************
I don't know if that was useful for anyone else,
but it was for me. Seems like much of the bad
stuff causing the price to go from IPO levels
of $15-20 were centered around the previous CEO
and his ideas about the company. He's outta
there and since then I see nothing but positives
(earnings increasing faster than analysts predicted,
key alliances (MSFT, NSCP, AT&T). Good news
released on a regular basis.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any negatives
on the horizon. I think the analyst that predicted $15-20
by year end is right on target. Also, at the rate they're
going, I wouldn't be surprised to see more earnings upside
surprises this quarter and next.

Thoughts on all the above are welcome.

cheers,
a.c.
