Oh Pat, I had such a similar experience!! My mother and I had always joked about getting in touch with each other if possible.
I am not a religious person, and have no idea how to explain this, but a few months after my mother died, early on a Saturday morning, the phone rang, and I answered it and my mother's voice, said, How are you? And I said, Mom? She laughed and said, yes. I said, Where are you? She said, COnnecticut. (we lived in Dallas) I said, well, I will catch a flight as soon as I can. Wait right there! This is so strange! And she said, oh honey, you know you can't do that. And then I woke up. It was 7:30 am
Later that morning, I got a call from a cousin in Connecticut telling me that my uncle Cecil had died that morning. He lived in an apartment on their property and she had gone that morning to see if he wanted breakfast and he wanted oatmeal and when she went back with it, he was gone. It was about 8:30 am EST. Which was 7:30 my time. Did my mother go to see him over? Since I don't believe in an afterlife, I can't explain any of this, but I still get goosebumps typing it. |
