As long as the supply of labor exceeds the demand, there will be people who will work outside of unions (on not work at all). Unions only work when supply and demand are in balance, or demand is higher.

For get deportation or walls. If there are not jobs (and there won't be if we aggressively prosecute those that hire illegals) then they won't come. And those here will find their way back to their home country, where they can make a living.

The root of the problem isn't the illegals, I don't blame them one bit. The root problem is employers breaking the law and giving them jobs to pad their bottom line, at the expense of citizens.
