Maybe. The higher salaries plus the benefit packages are much more important to me. I don't think I like giving private employees tenure.

I wasn't talking about colleges. That's a much different story. I was talking about the lower levels.

College professors do make more money; OTOH, they have to have a lot more education to get it. Still, I don't think tenure should be necessary for people making six figures.
