the market during the bush administration has been a poor performer equalled only by the 70s and the 30s.

The S&P is flat with where it was in 2000, "the Clinton era".

Bushonomics has been one long bear market. We are gyrating going nowhere which is a secular bear.

Now that Bush is a lame duck and a democratic congress is back with some fiscal discipline, the markets are starting to rise again. But if republicans had managed to hold on to congress we would still have a bad market. Republicans in this decade are the worst fiscal leaders the US has ever had.
