Sunw put together a portal for insurance companies with business process management. Warren buffett probably will use it to his advantage with Geico insurance. The future is many portals for all kinds of business, whether you access with cellphone or desktop computers. Business can be easily conducted. EBay is a portal to sell goods. With an insurance selling portal, Sunw is thinking of getting customers from other industries such as banking, financial services, and professionals such as doctors and lawyers. Will they be represented on the same portal, one wonders? Many years ago, this concept was presented on portals, for a community. Would it be a town portal? Since local advertising on TV or broadband half hour movies, are experimented now. Who knows how portals will eventually be used, in place of a mega mall perhaps?
