During the course of 1947 - 1951 over a million people moved/ became refugees - about 600,000 - 700,000 Arabs of Palestine (the term "Palestinian" at the time referred to the Zionists) and about 700,000 - 800,000 Jews of the Arab lands.

The Pal Arabs moved voluntarily, were thrown out by the new Israeli government, or just went to wherever the UN offered food?

But the Arabs wouldn't recgonize Israel. So they just turfed their own Jews out, and refused to take the Palestinian refugees.

Well, obviously they took the Pal refugees - they are still there. But you mean they refused to nationalize them, right?

Seems pretty ridiculous if the UN has been supporting these Pal refugee camps for 50+ years. Saw on the news last night that something like 10% of the Lebanese population are these refugees that are in lawless city/camps, and the people have no chance for citizenship and cannot hold many types of jobs. What the hell type of system is THAT to support for 50 years??

Might as well just tax Saudi oil sales a buck a barrel and let the Saudis support them.

Or......we could offer each Pal refugee citizenship in the new Iraq!

Or, since the West Bank is supposed to be part of the "2 state solution", let them go live there. You said yourself the Saudi "peace" plan is ridiculous because it attempts to dictate Israel's immigration policy. By the same token, Israel should not dictate WB immigration policy.
