There are problems with any war of any size that any country has waged. Expecting perfection is unrealistic. The equipment provided to our soldiers in this war is better that we had in the past, even after adjusting for the technological change. Much of our equipment is world class. Compare to WWII, where we had 2nd rate tanks (and I'm using WWII standards, not comparing them to M1s), torpedos that didn't work much of the time, transport ships that cracked when in frigid water (nearly 1500 incidents of brittle fractures on Liberty ships), shortage of medical equipment and supplies, and many other problems.

We also had problems in Korea, Vietnam, to a lesser degree even in more recent conflicts like Grenada (radios from difference services not working together).
