noooo!! don't throw me in the same bucket as Herb! ahh! ;)

So far I've been dead on. The stock has moved up a grand total of
1 point since I sold my core holdings 15 months ago.

about this SKU thing: YES, this number is meaningless.
If they had 5 SKUs and 90% of the market it's better than 150 SKUs
and 10% of the market! How do SKUs translate to market share? How
well are these SKUs selling compared with the total PC market? This
is the real data that's required.

Now, for some data:

PC worldwide shipments Q1 1997: 18.7 million
PC worldwide shipments Q2 1997: 18.9 million

ZIP shipments to OEMs Q1 1997 (my estimate) = (25%)(2 million)
= 500,000

ZIP shipments to OEMS Q2 1997 (my estimate) = (30%)(2 million)
= 600,000

(Assume Iomega shipped a total of 4 million ZIPs first half 1997,
25-30% to OEMs.)

Market penetration: 3% OEM, ZIPs (in total, OEM and aftermarket)
10.6% of total PC until shipments.

This 3% number is the number I care about.
