Thanks for the correction---- you are correct, Gore was never Governor. He was a U. S. Senator and also was Vice President. Here is a link regarding why Gore lost Tennessee, his home state, in the 2000 election. As the article notes if Gore had won his home state, he would have been President. worldnetdaily.com This demonstrates the importance of being sure you can be elected in your home state.
