One reason President Bush 43 received the support of the Republican base is that he was overtly Christian and promised to work to get an Amendment passed to protect the rights of pre born children. One of the reasons he is unpopular is that when he is in trouble he does not go back and cater to his base.

Republicans are unlikely to control either the Whitehouse or Congress if Giuliani, McCain or Romney is the nominee. I suspect that I would decline to vote for PResident if Rudy were the Republican nominee. I would find it very difficult to vote for McCain. I might learn to accept Mitt.
