yeah I didn't think much of that cree analogy, the stock doesn't move much and it was just a blog anyway.

However, I have to point out that we were just discussing the whole "commodity business" designation on another thread. I own some stocks right now that are in a commodity business- the solar stocks, plus I have invested in commodity businesses before. The problem is it seems like whenever a new business starts up, it doesn't matter what the business model is, pundits tend to dish out this "commodity business" moniker. That happened with GOOG early on, "portals are a commodity". The Gorilla Game wouldn't touch google because they thought it had no value chain when in fact, a whole industry has been built on adwords. IIRC years ago they were saying Cisco routers were a commodity.
