When Mpeg4 is universally used, the cost of delivery will go down; and the number of households will increase using the analog TV, which has less resolution(SD 480 i/p) and color depth.

The digital TV with higher resolution(720p or 1080i/p) and more colors now will have more HD channels with Mpeg4 development. DirecTV is going for 150 channels of HD($30/mo). More expensive Dish is 30 channels of HD, so far. Satellite installation service business will be big business.

This indicated that the triple play business is still in its infancy. As technology standardize, the business will develop more quickly; then price points will drive the market size.

Currently QAM works well for segmented data transmission speed. Multiplexers are for HBO, etc., but will also be used for QAM expansion, later.

I would think that maturity of triple play for every household will still take 5-10 years; when infrastructure roll out will have matured technology(software improvement).

Then, there is still GPS satellite transmission for triple play to come about.
