Homeland Security Group International, Inc.'s Ballistics Divsion Schedules Test Firing of Revolutionary Lightweight Composite

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 22, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Colonel Jeffrey A. Powers, CEO of Homeland Security Group International, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HMSG), announced today that the company's ballistic division will be testing a revolutionary new lightweight composite material capable of stopping high caliber armor piercing rounds.
HMSG, in conjunction with their joint venture partner Protective Solutions LLC, have been introduced to a compound that they are confident will stop high velocity rounds up to and including .50 caliber ammunition.

"This material is lighter than anything being used by the military at present and we feel that there is an immediate need to get these plates to the troops. This armor has applications as both personal body armor and also vehicle protection," commented Colonel Powers. "We will be scheduling test firings in the immediate future and will push to fast track the testing through NIJ. Manufacturing capability has been proven and cost point will be within the range that the military can field these plates immediately," concluded Powers.

HMSG's ballistics division expressed they are placing immediate emphasis on these plates and will follow them through the testing process to ensure immediate approval.

The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Standard establishes minimum performance requirements and test methods for the ballistic resistance of personal body armor designed to protect the torso against gunfire. The standard is limited to ballistic resistance only and does not address resistance from knives or other sharply pointed objects. It reviews NIJ body armor classifications, details requirements (i.e., acceptance criteria, workmanship, armor backing material, and so forth), and discusses test methods (i.e., velocity measurement equipment, wet conditioning, test preparation, and so forth). Level IIIA armor is designed to protect against 9mm Full metal jacketed round nose bullets up to and including .44 magnum hand gun rounds. Level III Rifle is designed to protect against high velocity rifle rounds up to and including 7.62mm Full Metal Jacketed bullets.
