Since Windows CE is a multi-platform environment, I am not surprised to see a potential rift opening up between Intel and Microsoft as described in the article you cited. One of the articles on my list mentioned a Silicon Graphics exec who hoped that the MIPS architecure would dominate Windows CE, allowing SGI to become the "Intel of Windows CE".

Here is a summary of a research report that states: "Windows CE devices will allow Microsoft to expand its dominant position beyond traditional PC systems into thin-clients, network computers, and information appliances and may well break the Intel monopoly." ( zonaresearch.com ) While the conclusion about Microsoft's success seems premature, this quote does emphasize the strains on the Wintel duopoly.

I see both risk and opportunity here for WIND. Glad it has a good relationship with Intel and Oracle. I remain long on WIND.
