I think that the possibly critical flaw in his campaign... is that he seems unable to break convincingly out of *single digits* in the South. (Very important region for securing the G.O.P. nomination.)

Iowa and N.H. alone won't get it....

(And, the entrance of Fred Thompson into the campaign could be 'Katy bar the door' on Romney's efforts to court the evangelical right in the South.)

But, that's what makes it a horse race. :-)

Question though: even if Thompson (or Newtie...) jumps in and takes a slice of the publics support --- if Rudy and John and Mitt (and maybe Fred or Newt too) all remain *bunched up* together --- then it is almost CERTAIN to be a knock-down drag-out fight at the convention.

Of a KIND such that we haven't seen from the G.O.P. in years and years....
