See my post on enzymes and read MT Murrays books on the same. Some say oral enzymes are hooey, but some research indicates otherwise, and also pineapples would not be good for you and inflammation if that contrary disbelieving fact were true, and we think not, really. A friend of mine, a geophysicist who works for Quantec swears by papaya, another anti-inflamm, for BP reduction. Makes sense.

I used to think fasting was hooey, but in fact it is a natural condition of the animal since we first hunted and is adapted to, and probably good. One thing is for sure, steady glut cannot be natural/good. Strangely where food supplies are good, animals are generally smaller. Large animals are used to intermittent supplies of food. The larger the predator, the less frequent they eat.
