Tony Bennett showed you why I love the 40's. That 80-year-old blew the place away. Amazing pipes to a 40's style song written by a Motown writer in 67. "For Once in my Life."

Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. GET RID OF YOUR MAKEUP ARTISTS! They both looked like they were trying to cover up a 40 year old face. Just slathered on. Kelly's combination of appearance and song were awful, IMO. Carrie at least, sang good material.

Sanjaya Malakar and Aerosmith's Joe Perry performed "You Really Got Me." And proved again how bad he is.

Bette Midler performed "Wind Beneath My Wings," and was awful. She is going into Vegas as a replacement for Celine Dijon in Celine's show during Celine's vacation? Good luck. They went for a "name" instead of a great Diva.

I thought The Beatles Sgt. Pepper singing was excellent. Too bad about Rubin Studdard. Great voice, bad package. You will never see his like win again.

The good news is that "So you think you can dance" starts again tonight. I think it will be even better than it was last year.
