Thou shalt not ... Former Hollywood actor-turned-"independent conservative" radio host Jerry Doyle was mulling over with Sen. John Cornyn why it is that the comprehensive immigration bill currently meandering its way through Congress is already more than 300 pages long, while the U.S. Constitution "is pretty short, and the Ten Commandments are even shorter." The Texas Republican laughed, but Mr. Doyle pushed ahead, coming with his personal list of 10 commandments on illegal immigration, which he forwarded yesterday to Inside the Beltway. Among the commandments: 10. English will be the only language used in the public workplace, public education, federal government offices and facilities, hospitals and related medical facilities, and the federal court system. All voting for federal offices will be accomplished in English only. 7. Public education, medical and dental services, housing, social services, food stamps, Social Security, Medicare, and other U.S. government programs will be for the benefit of legal residents of the United States only. 1. If you enter the United States of America illegally or overstay your visa, you will never be eligible to become a citizen of the U.S. No exceptions. |
