Your certainly free to maintain the other side of an argument is wrong, but if you want them to say they are wrong, it would be reasonable for you to provide a good argument.

A list of the number of deaths per month isn't much of an argument. It doesn't prove either side wrong. Well I suppose in theory it could. If one side said "we are winning" and then the deaths went from 5 per month, to 10, to 100, to 1000, to 10000... In other words if you had a clear and serious trend, and that trend was strongly to the side of things getting worse. But numbers bouncing around in the general region of previous numbers doesn't really provide much evidence for either side.

I think you even recognize this. I hardly think if June has esp. low casualties (compared to May, or compared to the previous June or whatever) that you would turn around and start saying "oh, I'm sorry, you where right, we aren't losing". And really there would be no reason for you to do so. Well no reason other then a desire to remain consistent to your own faulty logic.
