Yes... I had read the item. (Bush will either lead the G.O.P. out of the quagmire he created, [in time to have an effect on elections], or else he will be the 'dumbell' tied to the Party's neck that SINKS them in 2008.) The Party elders know what they want --- but I'm not sure they yet know whether Bush will prove too vainglorious and oblivious and stubborn to reverse course in time to save them... or not.
