I don't have any serious idea how large a voting bloc is principled libertarians. I say "principled" because a great many folk, stuck crosswise some government action, suddenly claim to be libertarians. I don't count them. They occupy an interesting philosophical position which is best, to my mind, argued by Robert Nozick at Harvard. I don't see it as a tenable one in a modern society, however, as complex, multifaceted, multicultured, etc. as they are. But it's a base point to offer critiques in specific areas, such as personal lifestyle choice, our health, etc.
