Imagine anyone registering for the draft today, let alone when he/she was 59!!! My paternal grandfather tried to enlist three times at three different recruiting stations. They kept turning him away because he had 8 kids at the time. He tried to falsify his identity, but as a local celebrity amateur boxer, he couldn't hide. "Go home and take care of your kids, Caesar." That's patriotism. Or maybe he just wanted to get away from the kids. ;)
