The fact that we have troops in Iraq doesn't in any way prevent terrorists from coming here and attacking us right now. You are falling into the trap of trying to make logical sense of a justification for a predetermined event. GWB and his braintrust clearly wanted this war at whatever cost, for whatever reason. Rational arguments disappear into that hard truth.
