Given the response, I feel I should go back and talk about Lutefisk and pickled herring where I am more qualified. The first is the fact of our interconnectedness. To defend Libertarianism just a little; doesn't the second sentence in the definition address that? Why would someone NOT want to be "free to do whatever they wish with their persons or property provided* they allow others the same liberty* If what you do can't impact others - that demonstrates a good understanding of "interconnectedness" doesn't it? Second, it ignores the role of the state in modern society Hmm, when we have a one world super power that messes things up as we have, might we be better off decreasing the power of the state just a little? It is going to take a very long time to unravel the damage done under the name of "the role of the state". Why not at least consider another alternative? Did I catch you before leaving on your trip so you have something to think about? have a good weekend. steve
