Mexican Violent Day Leaves Ten Deaths

Mexico, May 26 (Prensa Latina) Ten people were assassinated on Friday in seven Mexican states, in what the local press calls Saturday one of the most violent days in the country during the week.

The press said two of the victims had the mark that characterizes organized crime, raising the number of murders related to its activities to 1,127 in the present year, according to a count by El Universal daily.

It also mentioned the assassination of Tabasco´s Najuca municipal delegate, on the corps of whom they left a message, accusing him of calling the authorities anonymously, an evidence of a drug traffic revenge.

Crime in Michoacan appears particularly active, because an executed body raised the number of deaths to 156 only in 2007.

The army´s anti-drug operations started in that district, after an ambush by a large command, in which five military agents died, including a colonel.
