It's the same as blind faith in a single set of politicians or one party over everybody else; when you shut out reason and inquiry, the only result will be mindless tyranny of one sort or another. You certainly can't allow dissent and debate where total adherence to one dogma is concerned. Hopefully, the know-nothing, obey-or-you're-evil types of all sorts will be moved back out to the political fringes where they belong in the next two years, and we won't have to deal with them for a few presidential terms. But they'll be back after that, they always are.
