I was thinking the same this morning; the conservatives hate the only two candidates in the Rep Party who might win, Rudy and McCain; Romney and Thompson will play to the red-meat right but then get creamed in a general election, most likely.

If you had to bet now, the odds of one of the top three Dems getting the nomination and winning a general election are pretty good. Especially if our troop levels in Iraq don't change much and gasoline stays high.
