Slan, I take it that you support Ron Paul...good luck! the OT read is interesting. I have a problem getting serious about any republican in general. the whole of Central America was mucked up by Reagan, the whole of the mid- East mucked up by Reagan, Bush1 & now Bush11...and the voters who put these asses in office are NOW dismayed by what has been spawned. what did they expect? we should think about this...the deficit was to be paid off by 2010- 2012. kiss that goodbye! today, each citizens debt responsibility of the deficit is over $28K & counting. where is the outrage in that? the current military budget is greater than all of the rest of the world's nations military budgets combined...& we are bogged down in Afghanistan & Iraq. what a joke. the republicans stand for family values. do people realize that Massachusetts, the most liberal state, has one of the lowest divorce & abortion rates in the country if not the lowest. maybe it was good for Massachusetts the Pilgrims dispersed elseware. I suppose all is not bad. the world is now awashed with unpatrioted $US & the foreign middle classes are growing quite nicely...all eager to do there best at competing with us for scarce resources. I have no doubts as to whether or not the metals will do well, and we investors/ speculators will do well also. the only 'fly in the ointment' I see is the irrational republicans & their radical Muslam cohorts. maybe America's day in the sun will be getting a little cloudy...way too soon.
