I've a friend who's a doctor in one of those small drop in clinics, and he pretty fed up with how little time he's ordered to spend with each patient. It's all about cranking through the numbers and billing the insurance and/or customer. In order to spend more time with patients, which is why he got into medicine, he brings home a ton of paperwork each night, often spending two to three hours to get it completed. Ten years ago, he didn't have to do that, so in essence, he's getting the same salary but with 25% more time demanded of him. For those who don't put in extra hours (and most don't), they simply crank through the patients in record time.
