Science took a wrong turn with Eugenics. It is notable how many non scientists make that list you quote. Anyway science (and it was scientific method that withstood the test) corrected itself and the fashionable theory of the day fell by the wayside where most scientific theories go. The Nazies helped Eugenics die more then anybody. It's only dumbchits Crichton who keep bringing it up.
