What do you mean by OK in this context?

Do I think its a good thing? No. But that doesn't mean its something that should be controlled by the government.

Personally I'd probably benefit from laws against smoking in restaurants and bars. I don't own smoke, and I don't own a restaurant or bar, so I wouldn't be imposed on (except in the most theoretical of senses), and I'd rather have a smoke free environment.

OTOH - Who am I to force my preferences on someone else.

Now you might respond by "the bar owner is forcing his preference for smoke on the patrons and/or the employees", but really he isn't. No patron has to come to his establishment, and the employees are not forced to work there. He or she owns the bar and should get to set the rules, even if the rules are different than the ones I would like.
