I'm not sure that sports advertising is such a waste. If it is why do so many do it? Having a building called the "Corel Centre" or the "Molson Centre" is a pretty good way to remind people you're out there. Although...in the case of Candlestick Park being changed to the 3Com Centre, you probably only make people angry with you ;)
