Bonnie, if you want to go long on anything I would stay right where you are, in the safe comfort of Gold (& silver) where the P/E and P/B are still at ROCK bottom and the Yields are heavenly. Phelps Dodge, no way babee, they will be suffering the same overcapacity in late 97 & early 98' that GTW is suffering in the computer industry NOW! Don't be fooled by that low p/e, it's there for a reason.
I like Rarebird, but he is dead wrong, follow him and you follow deception, the same deception that has caused greater fools to buy yahoo at 57 while the head yahoos completely sold out at 36 and the stock probably has a real value of 10-15.
