What worries me most is that most of the competitive advantages that we are attributing to Intel on this thread could have been said with equal truth about IBM in the early and mid 1980's. Look how they managed to blow the lead when they could not- would not -did not (take your choice) execute and deliver the goods. Hubris goes before the fall. I believe Mr. Grove et al when he says he is paranoid, but nevertheless I think some overconfidence had begun to creep into the organization. Well, they are awake now. I used to use a portable with a quick attach big monitor and was pleased with it. It's a shame to monopolise a whole desk just for a computer....I need most of the desktop for clutter!
