Believe me, I wish the yields were higher on the reits too. The yields are vanishing all over the place, look at the utility stocks. Most of them are yielding under 3%. I own a few shares of Southern Company in my utility basket, along with T and VZ. There are some pretty respectable yields in the blue chips. I own a basket of the big cap pharmas since I couldn't figure out which would be the best. They all have 4% yields.

It just goes to show how cheap this market is on a valuation basis. I don't even own a tech stock anymore. I sold my last shares of appl today at 114. SPG looks like a much better company with a 3.5% yield at 107 that can easily trade back to $120 in a few weeks. The market has traded sideways for so long that people have forgotten how it feels to make real money.

I like making trades when they make good economic sense to me. Why not blow out of the techs for the summer and enjoy some more yield plays until next fall.
