On Oct 4, 1997 you wrote that Vertex had a market capitalization of 600mm, and Agouron of $993mm. You cited stocksmart as a reference, knowing full well it was wrong.
You have quoted from the quarterly report of Agouron, therefore you have seen the correct number of shares outstanding. I was trying to refrain from any further contests with a skunk like you. But on second thought, your egregious misrepresentation makes me very angry!
Why? Because to portray Agouron with a market cap under $1B overstates earnings per share, sales per share, and potential upside by at least 35%. AND YOU KNOW IT, JOHN W! You're showing a blue sky to people who trust you, and you know you are over-stating it.
Your disembling behavior is particularly offensive in that you have impugned others for lesser and non-existant faults. You have accused Alan Abelson (Barron's_) of fraudulent manipulation for a smaller error, concerning which he probably was not aware. Likewise, well-known trader and columnist, Jim Cramer, of thestreet.com, for merely running a newstory. You have accused Jim Silverman of impersonating Jay Silverman (biotech analyst for R-S), even though we all know Jim as the principal of Risk Reward Capital Management. You have said that Dr. Henry Niman, a founder of Ligand, and the best-known biotech investor in cyberspace, doesn't know his stuff.
After attacking these reputable people for little cause, you have deliberately and knowingly misrepresented the facts on Agouron and Vertex. Deliberately. Knowingly. With malice aforethought. With intention to profit therefrom. In addition to being clueless, you are a lying tout. And you know it.
Disclaimer: None of the many faults of Clueless John W detract from the value of Agouron Pharmaceuticals, a great company which has haplessly fallen into the clutches of a Shameless Congress Critter Server.
SI-ers: Please ask the Webmistress to throw this guy off again. He is just not SI material. |
