Plame was always at a disadvantage in this process. The best way for her to defend her status was to say: "Of course I was a covert agent. I did this, and this, and this...." But she could not do that very thing...because she was covert and it would have blown even more of what the idiots in the Administration had not already blown.

I always found it so funny that the fact that on the cocktail circuit she was "known to work for the CIA" somehow meant what she was REALLY doing was unimportant, or couldn't be still hidden under the banner of "working at the CIA" along with the thousands of other researchers and analysts. Even knowing her speciality wouldnt' obstruct her ability to work offshore covertly....until you make her a worldwide household name and face.

Such a sad example of Political gamesmanship by the Administration.....sickening.
