I do 40 minutes on an elliptical every morning during the week. 3 days a week I add weight training. I have been bad for a month or so now because of a flair up of my knee but I am ready to go back now. I gauge my speed and resistance by my pulse which I keep right around 155/160. You would want your pulse rate lower then that because of your age. I think the formula is 220 minus your age is your max and they usually want you at 60% of that number for light and 80% for high endurance.
