I found a few stories. Assuming that large numbers of Pakistani advisors where airlifted out of Afghanistan - Well letting that happen doesn't seem all that unreasonable. Pakistan agreed to stop supporting the Taliban, letting them get their guys out seems a reasonable trade off. The extent that they haven't lived up to that agreement, is a different (and more important) issue. In any case it wouldn't have been the very senior people you mention. I'm sure they where sitting at their desks in their air conditioned offices back in Pakistan. They send low level people to risk their asses, and mid-level people to supervise the low level guys. Not that that fact is really significant, they where (and some are) supporting the Taliban, their physical location doesn't change that.
