One of the types that we have almost none of is ABMs

Why is that?

Because they are new, because we hope to improve them before going to any form of mass deployment, and because there is some political opposition to the program.

And because we have never come up with a system that works very well.

That's why we don't have many ABMs. And until we have a technology that makes an ABM work well, its not worth having them. Hence, my original premise is correct.........we have more than enough missiles.
